Artist to Watch: Future Islands

Make this band the perfect start to your week. Future Islands is making moves in their new album, The Far Field. They draw from an 80s-sounding alt rock era to make upbeat, fun songs that are perfect for driving with the windows down.

Hailing from Baltimore, this group has been making music for together since 2006. Their breakout hit, however, didn’t come until 2014 with the single Seasons (Waiting On You). They made a TV debut on Letterman that made a lasting impression. Front man Samuel Herring totally kills it. They definitely don’t look like a band that has no experience performing live on TV.

They’ll be making a small festival run this summer while also touring, so there will be plenty of opportunities to catch them live. Expect to hear their name thrown around this summer. Full tour schedule here.
